Namibia Diamond Mines: Orange River Diamond Mines

Namibia's alluvial Orange River Mines are situated in abandoned river meanders (oxbow lakes) along the Orange River that forms the boarder with South Africa. The mines are located to the west of Fish River Canyon. The Orange River empties into Alexander Bay near the city of Oranjemund, at the souther tip of the Namib desert.
