Russia: Mirna (Mir Mirny) Diamond Mine

Russia's Mirna Diamond Mine (aka Mir or Mirny Diamond Mine) is the oldest diamond mine in this region, located in the Sakha Republic of northeastern Russia. Mirna is the deepest open pit diamond mine in the world. The mine, opened in 1957, is now exhausted.
