Palawan, Philippines: Busuanga Island Pearl Farms

On the western side of the Philippines islands, in the Sulu Sea is the region of Palawan in Southern Tagalog. Lamud Island and the "pearl islands" of Western Busuanga are at the northern end of Palawan, between Busuanga island and Culion Island. Pearl cultivation in this region began in the early 1900s. On the island of Busuanga, the 'Lusteveco Company Pearl Farm' is situated south of the village of Concepcion.
