Internal Carbon Pique Diamond Inclusion Photography
Piqué are tiny black spots caused by undigested carbon inclusions (natts) within diamonds. Black or dark material found within a diamond's internal fracture planes can also be particles or crystallographic inclusions of graphite, ferropericlase, pyrrhotite and pentlandite.

Microscopic Carbon Picque Inclusions

Hexagonal Platelet Inclusion in Trillion Cut Diamond

Carbon piqué inclusions are sometimes removed by diamond enhancements such as laser drilling, which can leave their own types of unique inclusions.
